Ex-Kaye Scholer Partner Facing Bankruptcy Fraud Allegations
Stephen Garcia, a former partner of Kaye Scholer, was indicted for bankruptcy fraud for allegedly failing to disclose involvement with a major creditor before he left the firm back in 2005. Mr. Garcia represented Geneva Steel Holdings Corp. in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case while he allegedly had a considerable involvement with Albert Fried & Co., one of the company’s major creditors. Mr. Garcia denies these allegations.
